1992

● 19th December - official establishing of the Slovak Olympic Committee, Vladimír Černušák was elected the SOC President.

1993

● 19th February - Ján Mráz was appointed the SOC Secretary General.

● 14th March - official approval of the Slovak Olympic Committee by the Association of European National Olympic Committees (AENOC).

● 16th March - provisional approval of the Slovak Olympic Committee by the IOC Executive Board.

● 12th June - Slovak Olympic Academy, headed by Mr. Pavol Glesk, was established in Bratislava.

● 24th September - official approval of the Slovak Olympic Committee by the International Olympic Committee at the 101st IOC Session in Monte Carlo.

1994

● 18th January - full approval of the bid of Poprad-Tatry region for the organization of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games at the 3rd SOC Session.

● 12th - 27th February - first ever Olympic participation of independent Slovak Republic - at the 17th Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway.

● 18th August - Slovak Parliament adopted the law Nr. 226/1994 about the using and protection of Olympic symbolics and about the Slovak Olympic Committee.

● 28th September - Slovak Society of Olympic and Sports Philately was established in Bratislava. Members of the society headed by Mr. Peter Osuský traditionally belongs to the most successful participants of the world´s philatelic contest OLYMPHILEX held during the Games of the Olympiad.

1995

● 24th January - bid project of the Poprad-Tatry region for the organization of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games was eliminated by the IOC selectional college.

● 18th February - Olympic Society of Slovakia, established in 1990 as a predecessor of the Slovak Olympic Committee, at the 5th SOC Session became a part of the SOC.

1996

● June - the traditional Olympics of children and youth in Trnava named „Kalokagathia" for the first time was held as an international event.

● 19th July - 4th August - first ever participation of independent Slovak Republic at the Summer Olympic Games. At the Games of the 26th Olympiad in Atlanta, USA, Slovaks won 3 medals (1-1-1). Historical first medal for independent Slovakia (bronze) was won by the shooter Jozef Gönci and the very first Olympic gold medal by only 17 years old white-water canoeist Michal Martikán in C1. Silver medal added flaw-water canoeist Slavomír Kňazovický in C1 500 m.

● SOC Secretary General Mr. Ján Mráz was decorated by the IOC Olympic Order in Silver.

● The SOC official publication „Olympic Movement in Slovakia", written and compiled by team leaded by the Chairman of the Slovak Olympic Academy Mr. Ján Grexa was launched.

● The first volume of the SOC magazine „Olympijská panorama" was issued.

1997

● 1st February - Mr. Martin Benko was appointed the SOC Secretary General.

● 22nd February - at the 10th SOC Session Mr. Vladimír Černušák was re-elected the SOC President.

● 17th April - Olympic Marketing Company Ltd., joint company of the SOC and Bidding committee of Poprad-Tatry region for the 2006 OWG, was established.

● 1952 Olympic Champion in boxing Mr. Ján Zachara was decorated by the IOC Olympic Order in Silver.

● 18th December - celebration of the 5th SOC anniversary in Bratislava-Rusovce, also the European Olympic Committees (EOC) President Mr. Jacques Rogge took part there.

1998

● February - ice hockey legend Peter Šťastný was Slovak candidate for the IOC Athletes Commission Commission in elections held during the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan.

● 3rd - 4th April - the 19th Seminar of the European NOCs Chefs de Missions and Secretaries General was held in Bratislava. Altogether 144 delegates, representing EOC, IOC, OCOGs and 46 European NOCs, took part there. The Session of the EOC Executive Board was part of this session.

● July - altogether 86 Slovak athletes in 10 events were send by the SOC to the World Youth Games in Moscow, Russia, held under the patronage of the IOC.

● 25th August - official celebration of the 5th anniversary of the Slovak Olympic Academy was held in the International Olympic Academy in Olympia, Greece.

1999

● 4th edition of the Winter European Youth Olympic Days (EYOD) was held in the Poprad-Tatry region with participation of 699 athletes from 40 European countries.

● The SOC official website www.olympic.sk was launched.

● The SOC Fair Play Club was for its unique and widespread activities as a first national FP Club ever decorated by the Honorary Diploma of European Fair Play Movement (EFPM).

● 19th June - bid project of the Poprad-Tatry region for the organization of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games was eliminated by the selectional college at the IOC Session in Seoul during the first round of elections.

● 19th August - abdication of Mr. Vladimír Černušák from the position of SOC President because of the serious family reasons.

● 1st November - Olympic Marketing Company Ltd. became a 100 per cent ownership of the Slovak Olympic Committee.

● 20th November - at the 16th SOC Session Mr. František Chmelár was elected the new SOC President, winning the contest of five candidates. Mr. Vladimír Černušák was elected the SOC Honorary President. SOC Ethical Code was approved. This step was followed by creation of the SOC Ethical Board (board was active until November 2004).

2000

● June - EOC President Mr. Jacques Rogge took part at the traditional International Olympics of children and youth in Trnava named „Kalokagathia".

● 2nd July - Slovak Association of Olympians was established, leaded by the 1976 Olympic cycling champion Mr. Anton Tkáč.

● 5th August - IOC President Mr. Juan Antonio Samaranch accompanied by the IOC Olympic Solidarity Director Mr. Pere Miró took part at the 18th General Assembly of SOC. Legendary ice hockey player Mr. Peter Šťastný, representing three countries (Czechoslovakia, Canada and Slovakia) was decorated by the IOC Olympic Order in Silver.

● September - at the Games of 27th Olympiad in Sydney, Australia, Slovaks won altogether 5 medals (1-3-1). Gold was won by white-water canoeists Peter and Pavol Hochschorners in C2. One of the world´s best swimmers and double Olympic silver medallist from Sydney (in 100 m butterfly and 200 m freestyle) Martina Moravcová was Slovak candidate for the IOC Athletes Commission Commission in elections held during the Olympic Games. Another silver medal added white-water canoeist Michal Martikán, followed by bronze medallist Juraj Minčík (both in the same event - C1).

● December - SOC was co-organizer of the big public inquiry "Slovak Athlete of the 20th Century". The figure skater, 1972 Olympic champion Ondrej Nepela, was posthumously elected the winner ahead of ice hockey goalkeeper and triple Olympic medallist (1964 - 1972) Vladimír Dzurilla and Olympic Champion in cycling Anton Tkáč.

2001

● 31st March - at the 20th SOC General Assembly Mr. František Chmelár was re-elected the SOC President. The SOC Council for the Development of Olympism was established.

● Association of the Olympic Clubs of Slovakia headed by Mr. Anton Švajlen was established as a coordination body of 14 regional Olympic clubs in Slovakia.

● 13th - 14th September - the General Assembly of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) and the European Fair Play Conference were held in Bratislava under the patronage of the SOC. Delegates of 18 countries took part there, among them three IOC members.

● December - SOC Secretary General Mr. Martin Benko was elected to the EOC Executive Board.

2002

● February - during the IOC Session in Salt Lake City Mr. Vladimír Černušák (IOC member from 1981 until 2001) was elected the IOC Honorary Member and decorated by the IOC Olympic Order in Silver.

● June - SOC Athletes Commission was established, leaded by ice hockey World champion Jerguš Bača.

● SOC Vice president Mrs. Mária Mračnová as a first Slovak ever was decorated by the highest honour of the UNESCO International Fair Play Committee - Jean Borotra Prize.

● SOC Honorary President and IOC Honorary member Mr. Vladimír Černušák was decorated by the Order of Merit of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

● 24th September - present site of the SOC - Slovak Olympic House on Kukučínova street 26, Bratislava - was opened.

● Chairman of the SOC Athletes Commission Mr. Jerguš Bača was elected member of the EOC Athletes Commission.

● December - to the 10th anniversary of the SOC the inquiry „Olympian of the Decade" was released by the SOC. The winner became 1996 Olympic champion in white-water canoeing Michal Martikán.

2003
● 25th January - Slovak Olympic Committee celebrated in the Opera House of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava 10th anniversary of its foundation. On the celebration took part as the honorary guests the President of the IOC Mr. Jacques Rogge with his spouse and two members of the IOC Executive Board Mrs. Gunilla Lindberg and Mr. Sergey Bubka, EOC Executive Board Mr. Alexander Kozlovsky, IOC member Mr. Tamás Aján, President of Russian Olympic Committee Mr. Leonid Tyagachev and AIPS Vice president Mr. Alain Lunzenfichter. Mr. Rogge got the Grand Gold Medal of the Comenius University in occasion of his visit in Bratislava. After Juan Antonio Samaranch (in 1992), he is the second representative of the Olympic movement to receive the prestigious award of the Comenius University. Successful figure skating coach Mrs.
Hilda Múdra was decorated by the Medal of Pierre de Coubertin.

27th - 29th March - the international conference of the national olympic academies of 8 countries was held in Bratislava.

2004
● 20th November - at the 29th SOC General Assembly Mr. František Chmelár was re-elected the SOC President.

● April - international exhibition and competition of philatelists SLOVOLYMPFILA 2004 was held in Bratislava as a European qualification contest for the world´s exhibition and competition OLYMPHILEX held during the Olympic Games in Athens.

● 1st May - 1st July - children and youth from all Slovakia were involved in the huge project "Message of Slovakia to the Olympic Athens". Torch relay crossed 130 Slovak cities and villages, all of them were attaching their own activities to the general "message".

● August - Slovaks won altogether 6 medals (2-2-2) at the Games of the 28th Olympiad in Athens, Greece. Gold medals were won by white-water kayaker Elena Kaliská in K1 women and again by white-water canoeists Peter and Pavol Hochschorners in C2. Silver added white-water canoeist Michal Martikán (C1) and judoka Jozef Krnáč (up to 66 kg), bronze flatwater canoeing K4 squad (Richard Riszdorfer, Michal Riszdorfer, Erik Vlček, Juraj Bača) as well as shooter Jozef Gönci (air rifle 60). Former world´s top 10 tennis player Karina Habšudová was Slovak candidate for the IOC Athletes Commission in elections held during the Olympic Games.

● For the first time SOC announced the laureates of Annual SOC Trophies, awarding fot 2003.

2005

● 1st February - Mr. Jozef Liba was appointed the SOC Secretary General.

● 16th April - SOC launched the environmental project "Athletes to help Tatras" with goal to lead the help of country´s sports community to the Slovak "holy" Tatra mountains after ecological catastrophy devastating its forest territory in November 2004.

2006

● February - the first ever medal of independent Slovakia from the Olympic Winter Games (silver) was won in Torino, Italy, by a snowboarder Radoslav Židek in the boardercross.

● July - the SOC official publication „Olympic Education", written by team leaded by Chairman of the Slovak Olympic Academy Mr. Ján Grexa was launched.

● SOC Secretary General Mr. Jozef Liba was elected member of the EOC EYOF Commission.

● 10th October - the first volume of the SOC magazine „Olympijská revue" was issued.

● 13th October - international symposium „Peadogogical Heritage of Pierre de Coubertin" was held in Piestany. Part of this event was also international seminar of lecturers of Olympic education.

● December - The best Slovak volleyball player of the 20th century and Olympic official Mr. Bohumil Golian was decorated by the Medal of Pierre de Coubertin.

2007
● January - the fully innovated SOC official website www.olympic.sk was launched.

● 21st April - at the 33rd SOC General Assembly took part also the Slovak commissioner of the European Union Mr. Ján Figeľ, as well as EOC President Mr. Patrick Hickey. He awarded the SOC for its outstanding results on field of Olympism by the EOC Plaque.

● 24th April - international seminar "Sport and Urbanism" organized by the SOC.
● 19th June - opening of the public exhibition „SOC celebrates 15th anniversary" at the M. R. Štefánik Airport. Exhibition was lasting three months.

● SOC President Mr. František Chmelár was appointed member of the EOC Commission for Contacts with the European Union.

● SOC Vice president Mrs. Mária Mračnová was decorated by the Trophy of IOC President.
● 20th December - Ceremonial General Assembly to the 15th anniversary of the SOC. Many European NOC top representatives, as well the IOC Vice president Mr. Thomas Bach and IOC Executive Board Mr. Sergey Bubka took part. Thomas Bach handed over to the SOC President Mr. František Chmelár Prize of the International Olympic Committee in recognition of outstanding achievements of the SOC during 15 years of its existence. Official publication to the 15th anniversary of SOC „Slovakia in mark of five rings" written and compiled by Mr. Ján Grexa and Mr. Ľubomír Souček, was launched at this occasion.

2008

● 28th March - at the 34th SOC General Assembly the delegates made a change of SOC statutes. Those changes for the first time allows also the national federations of the non-Olympic sports to become the SOC members if they are approved by the relevant international federations.

● 11th May - SOC has organized the meeting of 12 NOCs of Mid and South-East European countries in Bratislava.

● 20th May - the new SOC project "Olympic Festival of Slovak Children and Youth" was launched under the patronage of Slovak Republic President Mr. Ivan Gašparovič.

● May - Ivan Patúc with its sculpture "Wrestling" became a winner of the worldwide art contest "Sports and Art" organized by the IOC and its Cultural Commission.

● August - the most successful participation of Slovakia under five rings ever. At the Games of the 29th Olympiad in Beijing, China, Slovaks won altogether 6 medals (3-2-1). Two gold medals were won again by the successful defenders of the victory from Athens - white-water kayaker Elena Kaliská in K1 women and again by white-water canoeists Peter and Pavol Hochschorners in C2 (for them already triple triumph in a row) and the third one by their white-water colleague Michal Martikán in C2. Silver added flatwater canoeing K4 squad (Richard Riszdorfer, Michal Riszdorfer, Erik Vlček, Juraj Tarr) and shooter Zuzana Štefečeková (trap), bronze freestyle wrestler David Musuľbes (up to 120 kg). Double Olympic silver medallist in swimming in 2000 Martina Moravcová was Slovak candidate for the IOC Athletes Commission in elections held during the Olympic Games.
● 29th November - at the 36th SOC General Assembly František Chmelár was re-
elected the SOC President. Newly elected SOC Executive Board members by the innovation of the SOC Statutes became the individual SOC members. The SOC Council for the Development of Sports was established.
